AIM​​

Individuals and team are committed in enhancing the Safety Excellence.

INTRODUCTION​​

2020 marks 13 years of Safety Day. The objective is to bring all employees and contractors together to engage and focus on improving our safety culture. It should not be viewed as an isolated event, but it is a significant opportunity to reflect on our journey to build a stronger safety culture in pursuit of “Goal Zero” – no harm to people and the environment. We want to encourage teams to think about the steps we can all individually and collectively take to achieve “Goal Zero”.

2020 changes include:

 

  • The introduction of new line under Team Goals for Safety Day Attendance (please ensure your team is aware).
  • HSE Excellence Theme is for three years from 2020-2022.

OBJECTIVE​​

A fundamental pillar in achieving and sustaining world-class safety Excellence is ‘accountability and ownership’. Our focus this year will revolve around ensuring every individual, employee or contractor is aware of their role in taking accountability and Ownership in everything they do and how this can contribute to the overall safety performance.

It is essential for all of us to understand how the journey of HSE Excellence can support in creating a strong safety performance results for us to achieve no harm to people and the environment, which is our Goal Zero journey.

Please attend the Safety Day session and actively participate in the discussions.

Please take time out to discuss: 
  • What is HSE Excellence, how important it is to our Goal Zero journey?
  • Understand how to achieve positive accountability and ownership as individuals and teams.
  • Inject key elements of accountability and ownership as part of the HSE focus areas for 2020 in your team.
 ​

   At the end of the session every individual should:​
  • Understand what 'Safety Excellence' means.
  • Design a road map by highlighting key areas to achieve 'Safety Acccountability and Ownership'.
  • Everybody responsible and accountable towards the 'Safety Excellence' .
  • List your top suggestions to improve 'Safety Excellence: accountability and ownership' in PDO.
