THEME
We continue our journey to emphasise the message of the importance of getting “THE BASICS” right. The oil and gas industry is in challenging times and it’s vital that we all work in harmony to achieve the ultimate goal of zero harm to people and environment. PDO has three Golden Rules; Comply, Intervene and Respect.
In 2014 and 2015 our safety days focused on Comply and Intervene respectively. The 2016 Safety Day theme will focus on Respect as the third pillar of the Golden Rules which is fundamental to our lives and our business”.
'Respect' is the foundation of every HSE rule in our organisation. Without respect, there can be no compliance, without respect there can be no intervention. Every one of us has a role to play in protecting ourselves, our colleagues, our production, our equipment and our environment. We achieve this by showing respect to the rules, procedures, standards and instructions; we show respect to our people, caring for their welfare, their safety and their health; showing them where they may be going wrong and looking out for them when they make mistakes. We show respect to the equipment, its integrity, its inspection and its maintenance.
We encourage everyone to think about how we all can take time to engage and focus on improving Safety with 'Respect' in everything we do. Let us all show that we care for each other's safety and well being at all times.
OBJECTIVES

Quote from the PDO Managing Director’s Message:
“This year we are focusing on Respect, arguably the most important of all golden rules, an enabler, a driver for compliance and intervention”
