On 6th May 2006 at around 18:00 in the KGP vehicle workshop, while a mechanic was hammering on the teeth cap to remove it from the shovel bucket, metal chip from the right edge of the teeth cap flew and entered through skin of his left lower limb. The injured person was immediately attended by the site male nurse. He was then referred to Adam Hospital for further examination. He was then shifted to Nizwa Hospital where he underwent minor knee surgery. Due to the nature of the injury the incident was classified as an LTI.
