HSE-MS Audit Action for Contract Holders

During a contractor Workshop/Yard inspection, some of the following deficiencies were noted:

  • poor waste management in workshop (Nimr)
  • various pieces of lifting equipment without codes or with outdated colour codes
  • No concrete base for the storage area of lubricating oil drums and fuel skid
  • Inspection on a forklift out of date, although a valid test certificate was available
  • HSE manual outdated
  • use of jubilee clips on welding and spray paint hoses is common; no kickback protection on air hoses
  • First aid kits not inspected
  • No evidence of visit reports from the contractor HSE manager
  • No evidence of visits by contract holder or contract holder representative
  • No SHOC/MSDS

Recommendation:

  • Contract Holders to ensure that Contractor Workshops/Yards in the interior are properly identified and included on an annual audit/inspection programme. In the event the Workshop/Yard is used for multiple contracts, corresponding Contract Holders shall agree on how best to fulfil the requirement efficiently.
