Changing a Tire: Hazardous??
It seems like a simple job: changing the tyre of a car or truck. Yet we recently had two LTI¿s in this "simple" activity. A water truck driver was changing a flat tire when the wheel fell over and hit his forehead. He suffered a 5 inch long cut with a lot of pain and blood. The very large and heavy wheel of a seismic vibrator fell over when the operator jacked-up the vehicle. The helper who was standing too close was pushed over and fell down. The wheel trapped and broke his foot. He was lucky. It could have been much worse.
