At the same time, our work in the wider community is also of paramount importance. Here, we shine a light on some of our initiatives both within and beyond the oil and gas sector.

PDO ICV Awards is a corporate prestigious high-profile recognition scheme, where the Company celebrates businesses and organisations which have gone the extra mile to support Omani economic development.

 

PDO Staff Volunteering Project: Baader
The award-winning Baader project allows PDO staff to volunteer their time and expertise to help non-governmental organisations and charities and make a positive contribution to Omani society. It also lends its support to programmes in which the Omani government and other institutions are involved.
Banat Oman
PDO’s social enterprise Banat Oman – a vocational training initiative to imbue low-income women with the skills they need for sustainable employment – has blossomed, training over 300 women to date. The Company has invested RO 150,000 to initiate the project, in partnership with the Omani Women’s Association, to train a number of women from across the country in various handicrafts, such as tailoring and embroidery, dairy and bakery products manufacture, leathercraft, camel bone carving and silversmithing.
Tell A Friend

In partnership with the Royal Oman Police and several non-governmental organisations, such as the Oman Road Safety Association, the Company has launched the nationwide Tell A Friend road safety campaign in 2013 to urge the public to spread the message about more responsible driving to their family, friends and colleagues.
Wells Learning Centre
​As part of its effort to create and retain world class Omani wells professionals, PDO opened a new Wells Learning Centre in 2014, with support from the Ministry of Oil and Gas and Shell as a partner, to meet the challenges of the changing operating environment and the growth in activities.​​
