The Letter of Understanding (LoU) will lead to future collaboration on exchange visits, training courses, workshops, lectures and other programmes to strengthen scientific, cultural and academic learning.
The LoU was signed by His Excellency Habib bin Mohammed Al Riyami, Secretary-General of the Centre, and PDO Managing Director Raoul Restucci.
It is the latest move by PDO to further build on its strong relationships with external stakeholders through regular engagements, oil and gas industry awareness sessions, knowledge sharing and training.
Mr Restucci said: “PDO is very pleased to sign this agreement with such a respected organisation as the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre of Culture and Science.
“It will mean both sides working closer together to share and spread knowledge and deepen understanding on matters of common interest through exchange visits, meetings and presentations.”
The LoU will pave the way for PDO to communicate its expertise on Lean business efficiency, the environment and occupational health, safety and management with staff from the Centre, and share some of its key publications.
Centre staff will also be able to visit PDO ventures, such as the Miraah solar energy and Nimr reed beds projects, and attractions such as the Planetarium and EcOman Centre at the Knowledge World in Qurum.
The agreement will offer the Company the opportunity to participate in the Centre’s cultural events and deliver lectures and presentations during its various activities and programmes.
The agreement, which will initially run for two years, establishes a joint working party to implement its terms.
